That’s why teeth straightening, also known as Orthodontics, has become a very popular treatment and in many cases has now become the treatment of choice – and contrary to what you may believe, you are never too old to have your teeth straightened.
One of our most popular teeth straightening solutions is called “Invisalign” which is a revolutionary type of brace that is virtually invisible!
Essentially Invisalign is a set of clear, custom made ‘orthodontic aligners’. Each aligner is worn and then changed every two weeks, until the teeth have been realigned and the course of teeth straightening treatment is finished.
The most significant benefit of using Invisalign is that the position of your teeth will become more aesthetically pleasing and will also be easier to clean – thus maintaining good all round oral hygiene.
The Invisalign teeth straightening procedure is very straightforward.
During your initial appointment we will discuss with you what you want to achieve and then decide on your suitability for Invisalign and the appropriate treatment for you. Impressions, x-rays and photos are taken and sent to Invisalign where they are digitally scanned, producing a ‘Clincheck’ of the final result. We show you this computer simulation called a Clincheck and if you are happy the aligners are then constructed.
Over the next few months, at approximately three weekly intervals, we will monitor your Invisalign device and make any necessary adjustments. Once we are happy with the final position of your teeth we will safely remove the brace without any trace that it ever existed.
At the end of treatment, you have the option of a ‘clear or fixed retainer’ which helps to maintain the new position of your teeth.
Invisalign i7 is a cheaper teeth straightening treatment with a smaller brace for those simpler cases where just a few teeth need to be straightened. We will advise you on whether you need the full Invisalign or simpler Invisalign i7 treatment during your initial consultation with us.
There will be slight discomfort during the first week or so while the teeth begin to adjust their position.
No. The Invisalign device is designed to be as small and inconspicuous as possible to facilitate maintaining good oral hygiene.
