Bridges, Implants & Dentures are used to replace badly broken, extracted or missing teeth, usually due to trauma, excessive tooth wear or defects. After an initial consultation with you we will discuss the most appropriate form of treatment.

Bridges

A dental bridge is a fixed or removable device that replaces missing or several missing teeth.

A dental bridge will use the teeth either side of the gap to anchor onto. It will only be possible if the teeth supporting the bridge are strong enough and if they have good bone support. The teeth either side of the gap are prepared, crowns are placed over the prepared teeth and these are attached to the artificial tooth (also called a pontic).

Implants

An implant is used to replace missing teeth. An implant consists of a post which is inserted into the gums and an artificial tooth which attaches to the post.

Dental Implants are the modern way to replace missing teeth. They are durable, long lasting and made to appear as if they emerge naturally from the gum. Implants have the longest life and best success rate of any dental treatment.

A dental implant consists mainly of two parts, the 'screw or post' acting as the root of the tooth, and the crown. The implant 'post' is made of titanium which osseointegrates to the surrounding bone. The crown is then attached to the post.

Nowadays an implant-retained crown is virtually indistinguishable from a natural tooth.

Dentures

A denture is a prosthetic device either fixed or removable and replaces a single tooth, multiple missing teeth or a full arch of teeth.

K2 Dental use the latest Valplast flexible acrylic dentures. Valplast dentures are the most comfortable, flexible, easy to maintain dentures available. Other options available are standard acrylic and chrome dentures and we will suggest the most appropriate denture after an initial consultation.

We use dentures as more of a budget teeth replacement option to bridges and implants.
