All-on-4 now available from K2 Dental

Teeth straightening, also known as Orthodontics, has become an increasingly popular treatment in preference to other more invasive options.

Nowadays the appliances used are fast, effective and in some cases nearly invisible, so even the people closest to you will not even be aware you have had the treatment carried out. Here at K2 Dental Zaki Kanaan, Director and Implantologist, is very experienced in carrying out this procedure and “All on 4” is a new tooth implant treatment that K2 are now offering their clients.

In a world that is increasingly image conscious having the perfect smile is very important and being able to show of your teeth with pride can be a great boost to your confidence. Improving your appearance is just one reason to get any missing teeth replaced and having a full set of teeth is also good for the overall health of your mouth.

The ‘All-on-4’ treatment is all about replacing lost teeth. In the past, having a number of teeth replaced could be a lengthy process involving many implants placed in your mouth. ‘All-on-4’ is different because you can have a set of replacement teeth fitted in just one day with only four implants needed. It is a process initially pioneered by a Portuguese dentist, Dr. Paulo Malo, who wanted to offer patients the opportunity to have a bridge in place quickly using the minimum amount of implants and avoiding the need for bone grafts.

Dental implants are a long established solution for lost teeth and basically involve having a socket placed into the gum, into which a crown can be placed. This crown can then support a bridge of other replacement teeth.

All-on-4 is different because it can give patients a whole new set of teeth using only four implants. It is able achieve this by placing two of the four implants at such an angle that the bridge is supported by the implants at the front of the mouth, where the jaw bone is denser and stronger.
